You do not need to be an athlete, belong to a club or have anxiety connected to sport to ask for help. TRT Therapy welcomes members of the public, including English-speaking expats and residents in Spain, who want support with stress and anxiety in everyday life.

A place to begin

Your life is bigger than a label.

You do not need to arrive with the perfect explanation. Start with what has been difficult and what you would like to understand.

Ask a question

Anxiety in everyday life—not only in sport

Persistent worry, panic, fear of ordinary situations or difficulty switching off can affect anyone. You can enquire about generalised anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, OCD-related concerns or stress at work and home. These are topics we can discuss with you, not a promise that one approach is suitable for every person or condition.

Living in Spain and looking for support in English

Being able to explain what you are experiencing in a familiar language can matter. Our services are currently offered in English. You may be retired, working, studying or settling into a new life in Spain; you do not need a sporting connection or a particular reason for your anxiety.

Relocation, unfamiliar routines or being away from your usual support network may be part of your circumstances. Anxiety can also predate a move abroad. We do not assume that living in Spain caused it, or that a change of scenery should have resolved it.

What TRT support involves

Threat Recalibration Therapy uses the Human Stability Framework to explain the biological threat response and patterns of attention, interpretation and behaviour that can keep it active. Your practitioner introduces the framework, agrees practical areas to work on and supports your use of structured materials or exercises in everyday life.

The starting point is what you are experiencing, what you would like to work on and any support you already receive. The aim is stress and anxiety recovery and greater stability in daily life—not sporting performance.

How to make a first enquiry

Tell us briefly what you would like help with, whether you prefer Zoom, FaceTime or an in-person session, and where in Spain you are based. You can mention any existing support without sending private medical records or a detailed health history through the contact form.

We will reply to discuss suitability and current availability. There is no need to choose or buy a programme before asking a question. If another kind of assessment or care is needed, coaching should not take its place.

Questions, answered

Before you get in touch.

A little more about who can enquire, how sessions work and what this service is—and is not.

Can I ask for support if I do not play sport?

Yes. Individuals and members of the public are welcome. Your anxiety does not need to be connected to sport, a club or an organisation.

Do you offer anxiety support in English for expats in Spain?

Our services are currently offered in English, and English-speaking expats and residents in Spain can enquire. You do not have to be an expat: anyone who would like to discuss support in English is welcome.

Can I have online sessions if I live elsewhere in Spain?

You can enquire about one-to-one sessions via Zoom or FaceTime. Suitability, availability and appointment times are agreed individually; online support does not imply a local office in every Spanish town.

Where can in-person sessions take place?

One-to-one sessions can be arranged at Oliva Nova or nearby. The meeting location is agreed by appointment. We do not claim an official partnership with the resort or walk-in clinic availability.

Do I need to buy a programme before speaking to you?

No. Start with an enquiry. We discuss the available format, suitability and costs with you before sessions are arranged.

Can under-18s receive sessions?

Under-18s can receive sessions with written parental consent. Consent and safeguarding arrangements must be agreed before a session takes place.

Is this an emergency or medical assessment service?

No. TRT support is not an emergency service and does not provide a medical diagnosis or replace medical or psychological care. In an immediate emergency in Spain, call 112. For other urgent health concerns, contact an appropriate healthcare professional.
