Start with what is affecting your life
You may worry across many subjects, fear another panic attack, avoid social situations or spend a great deal of time checking your health. The words people use in a search do not always match a diagnosis. You do not need to select a condition before asking a healthcare professional for help or sending us a brief enquiry.
Read the guide that seems relevant, but do not use it as a test. Different concerns can overlap, and physical symptoms may have causes that need medical assessment. Information on a website cannot rule out those causes or create an individual treatment plan.
Anxiety disorders and anxiety-related concerns
Generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, agoraphobia, specific phobias and separation anxiety have different patterns. Health anxiety is another widely used term for distressing worry about illness. Each guide explains the topic separately rather than presenting a single answer for every difficulty.
OCD and PTSD can include anxiety but have their own diagnostic categories. They are included as related concerns because readers may search for them while looking for anxiety support. Their clinical care requirements should not be reduced to general stress management.
Children, mixed symptoms and concerns not listed here
Anxiety can occur alongside low mood or other health difficulties. Children may need age-appropriate assessment rather than an adult approach. The separation-anxiety guide includes parental-consent boundaries, but it does not advertise specialist child psychology.
This collection is not an exhaustive diagnostic catalogue. If your concern is not listed, explain what is happening and ask an appropriate professional about assessment. We can discuss whether a TRT enquiry is suitable without requiring you to arrive with a label.
Support in English along the Valencia–Alicante coast
Members of the public in Valencia, Gandia, Oliva, Dénia, Jávea/Xàbia, Calpe, Benidorm, Alicante and the coastal area between them can read these guides and enquire about online TRT support. No sporting affiliation is needed.
Psychology, counselling and TRT are not interchangeable names for the same service. Our comparison guide explains questions to ask about credentials, clinical needs and the approach being offered. Online enquiries do not imply a physical clinic in each town.
Questions, answered
A little more clarity.
Do I need a diagnosis before enquiring about support?
No. You can briefly explain what is affecting daily life. A TRT enquiry does not provide a diagnosis, and a qualified healthcare professional should assess clinical concerns.
Why are OCD and PTSD included?
They can involve anxiety, but have separate diagnostic categories and may need specialist care. They are related topics, not relabelled anxiety disorders.
Are these guides only for athletes?
No. They are written for the public, including residents and expats in Spain. Our separate sports content remains available for people who need it.
