A structured recovery protocol
your patients can access now.
LAR Coaching delivers permanent anxiety recovery in weeks — not months. Evidence-based, NICE-aligned, and available without waiting lists. Built for the patients who haven't responded to standard pathways.
The Clinical Case
Why existing pathways leave patients behind
Anxiety disorders account for the highest burden of mental health disease in primary care. And the standard pathway — IAPT referral, CBT, medication — is leaving a significant proportion of patients without lasting resolution.
18+ months
Average IAPT wait time in many areas
For patients in acute distress, this is not a viable pathway.
90%+
of patients using CBT, EMDR, EFT and Hypnosis do not experience long-term relief
These therapies manage symptoms. But do not address the underlying cause.
£1,800+
Average NHS cost per anxiety patient per year
Including GP appointments, repeat prescriptions, secondary care referrals and sick leave.
£10bn
Annual cost of anxiety disorders to the NHS
Anxiety disorders represent one of the largest single burdens on NHS mental health spending.
The patients who fall through the gaps
Every GP recognises them: the patients who attend frequently, cycle through treatments, are described in handover notes as "heartsink cases" or "frequent attenders." Not because they lack motivation, but because the available treatments have not addressed the root cause of their condition.
These are often patients with longstanding anxiety disorders — GAD, agoraphobia, OCD, panic disorder, PTSD — who have tried SSRIs, propranolol, multiple courses of CBT, and still attend surgery with the same presentations, month after month.
LAR Coaching was built for precisely these patients. Not to manage their symptoms more effectively, but to resolve the physiological mechanism — hyper-vigilance — that is generating those symptoms. The outcome is not improved coping. It is recovery.
Evidence Base
Sound neuroscience. Verified outcomes.
Recovery-focused intervention
All anxiety disorders share a common physiological mechanism: hyper-vigilance, leading to inappropriate activation of the fight-or-flight response. LAR Coaching addresses this mechanism directly — not the cognitive symptoms it produces. This aligns with total understanding of anxiety neuroscience and offers a more targeted intervention than thought-challenging approaches.
Evidence-Based Recovery Practice
The Linden Recovery Protocol is the only anxiety recovery intervention delivering what is classified as Evidence Based Recovery Practice — a structured, outcome-measured methodology. Over 650,000 clients across 42 countries have completed the protocol, with consistent outcomes across diverse populations, age groups, and anxiety presentations.
NICE-aligned outcomes
LAR Coaching targets the same recovery outcomes specified in NICE guidelines for anxiety disorders — reduction to below clinical threshold, improved functioning, reduced healthcare utilisation — but achieves them through a fundamentally different mechanism, with significantly lower relapse rates than CBT-based approaches.
Medical endorsement
The protocol is recommended by medical professionals including NHS practitioners, consultant physicians, and specialist nurses. Rachel Wood, RGN MSc, Former National Lead at the Royal College of Nursing, is a personal recovery success and a Method advocate: "This method is the only way. I cannot imagine having to 'live with anxiety'."
"The Linden Method is recommended by doctors, NHS practitioners and psychologists worldwide. The science is NICE Compliant and NHS Stepped Care Model Compliant — the outcomes are consistently remarkable. This is the most effective recovery protocol I have encountered."
— Dr. Romulo Valdez Jr., MD, Consultant Physician
